Mont Saint Michel

This was the most extraordinary experience to see this wonderful World Heritage listed site and worth the 10hour round trip from Paris.
It was a very over cast and drizzley day so was not a good one for photography.
 I remember reading a beautiful little novel many years ago  the Legend of  Mont Saint Michel , but never really considered ever seeing this magical place

these massive pillars formed the base of the abbey
